| Francesca Bampa has successfully completed a two years MSc honours in Land and Environmental Sciences and Technologies from the University of Padova, interfaculty of Agriculture and Sciences. In 2006 she also successfully completed a BSc honours in Environmental Sciences and Technologies in the same University. Since 2011 she is a PhD student in the Doctoral School of Crop Sciences, University of Padova. Her research topic is: "Options for Climate change mitigation in agricultural soils and impact on production in EU countries". In 2009 she worked in Iceland as an EVS volunteer (European Voluntary Service under the Youth in Action programme) with the NGO SEEDs ICELAND, implementing actions and leading projects to raise awareness of nature protection, sustainable rural development, climate change and organic farming. In 2010 she did a traineeship at the European Commission in Brussels - DG AGRICULTURE – Unit H.4. Bioenergy, Biomass, Forestry and Climate Change. Her work was related to DG AGRI policy in the field of adaptation and mitigation to climate change, specifically providing scientific information about soil carbon sequestration and protection on agricultural land in EU countries. In February 2011 she joined the European Commission- JRC as a Grantholder (cat. 20) in the SOIL Action. |
