Portrait: Iason Diafas
| Iason Diafas has studied Economics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where he graduated from in 2002. He went on to do two MSc degrees in Enironmental Evaluation and Environmental and Resource Economics obtained from LSE and UCL respectively. In 2004 he moved to Bonn, Germany, to pursue his PhD in economic valuation of environmental resources.
In 2007 he worked for half a year as consultant at the UN climate change secretariat (UNFCCC). He joined the Soil Action in October of 2008 as a Grantholder. In Soil Action his main role is working for DigiSoil project. In particular, he is estimating the economic potential of new digital mapping technologies. Other tasks include work on biochar, as well as on the economics of soil biodiversity |
