WP1: Development of new sensing technologies
Objectives
- To develop new sensing technologies for non-invasive characterization of the soil geophysical properties with a high spatial resolution.
- To identify and improve geophysical sensors as proposed in the Digisoil’s strategy. To specify their technical characteristics and optimal settings, considering theoretical aspects and practical constraints (e.g., mobility).
- To develop and optimize signal processing algorithms for the different sensors in order to maximize soil information retrieval capabilities in terms of quantity and quality.

WP2: Geophysical data integration and soil properties collection
Objectives
This workpackage aims at using calibrate geophysical tools to derive soil properties.
The specific objectives are :
- to interpret the geophysical signals of geophysical tools (e.g. GPR) in terms of physical parameters (e.g. dielectric permittivity);
- to derive soil properties from the physical parameters and discuss the validity of this interpretation.

WP3: Implementation, field testing and validation on selected test sites
Objectives
This work package aims to :
- map dynamic soil properties identified as common criteria for delineating the risk of soil threats (SOC decline, compaction, erosion and shallow land slides),
- map the state of soil degradation,
- calibrate and validate the geo-physical techniques against traditional soil analysis and
- evaluation of the performance of the techniques.

WP4: Evaluation of developed technologies and impact for the society
Objectives
- This workpackage aims to test the operational ability of the DIGISOIL outputs in terms of end-users needs, economic and technical feasibility. This workpackage is presented as a premise of a Market Study
- The main objectives of this task are to identify potential end-users, determine the main areas that the end-users are interested in applying the mapping tool and, most importantly estimate the willingness to pay for the various features of the tool

WP5 : Synthesis of the results and exploitation for technological valorisation
Objectives
- The objective of the WP5 is to summarize the scientific results of the project and reformulate them in term of operational exploitation. This work will consist in describing the DIGISOIL mapping tool technically validated, in writing a user guide and all information necessary to promote exploitation for future services.
- One of the objectives in this WP is the definition of technical specifications of the geophysical system, already set up in previous tasks.

WP6 : Dissemination of results
Objectives
Work package 6 deals with communications and dissemination activities of the project and will act as an information exchange platform between beneficiaries, EC representatives, stakeholders and future users of the DIGISOIL technology. The objectives of this WP are to:
