Contents of the CD Rom
This CD presents the results of two studies on soil erosion a
European level comprising:
- A review of the ‘Nature
and Extent of Soil Erosion in Europe’
prepared by a Technical Working Group on Erosion, coordinated
by the Directorate-General for Environment, in support of the
official Communication (COM(2002)
179 final, Brussels 16.4.2002)
‘Towards a Thematic Strategy for Soil Protection’
from the Commission of the European Communities to the Council,
the European parliament, the Economic and Social Committee and
the Committee of the Regions;
- The results of the Pan-European Soil Erosion Risk Assessment
– PESERA Project (contract no. QLKS-CT-1999-01323), funded
by the EU, that has produced a map of Europe showing estimated
soil loss from erosion by water.
